Brief explanation/
outline of project
The student is interested in how
motion capture is currently being used within games development and how effective
it can be to deliver data for input within models and if there are more cost
effective ideas for this sector and how it can be used to produce effective
clean data for animation use.
Context / Rationale
MOCAP is being used more effectively within the industry. The problem that is seen is that the use of mocap is incredibly expensive for smaller development teams to effectively use or the cheaper end of the market for mocap possibly isn’t as effective in collating 3D data together to integrate within models. The idea is to research into various setups used within industry / education and what seems to be the more commonly used style of mocap and how effective the data collection is. Present my own theory of mocap application using much cheaper software / hardware and attempt to record primary data collections and clean it up for use within a playable game demo or in game cinematic and see how effective it is. |
