Overall Update Statement

Environment

 So the design of the environment is based around a pen design.  This allows a restriction to where the player can go.  The theme design is around the maze runner style with big pen walls for protection which for what was needed from this project works well.


The world just needs to be full of areas for hiding and working around for hunting.  This will be more on the idea of a pen like within jurrasic world, full of tree's and bushes to hide behind / under / around.  This will work well with the HUD camera system as well as with the monster hunter AI.


Enemy Monster

Design

I am unsure with the design of the style of the monster I want to work with for the animations.  The theory is maybe a humanisitic monster that can turn into a four legged monster for fast running or sticking with a quad styled monster for a more difficult challenge of motion capturing.

MonsterAI

A Basic design of the AI has been made using a simplistic pawnsense model that allows the AI to see the enemy and attack but this very simplistic.  A breakdown on a more complicated blueprint will be made soon.

Mechanics 

Monster Cloak

Material for a cloak has been made and works within 4.10, 4.12 and 4.14.  The cloak has a displacement look for some definition but the idea to work within the environment means that the player will need to use their wits.

 

Camera Feed In HUD

Research into a HUD system that will use cameras all over the pen.  When the AI goes into a trigger area, the HUD will have a camera with that information on it to help them know where the monster is.  The theory is to have them as heat maps.

 

Footprints / Volumes

Footprints work to a point, I am having problems with the feet decals not going where I want them too which is problematic as no fixes will allow them to go straight.  Another process may need to be made.  The idea is that the footprints will have a volume for the enemy AI to pick up and decide to hunt you.

Bush walking / going to walls

I want the player when running through the bushes or going next to walls / tree's to do a human reaction and put the hand out to use it for support and aim.
