Brief explanation/
outline of project
The student is interested in how
motion capture works, however since most triple AAA companies have specific
rigging staff and separate animators to motion capture / clean up artists,
most indie companies will have a small team with probably one / two members
who will be doing all the animation / rigging / clean up and capture for the
company. The idea is to expand the
idea of motion capture to the whole process to ensure that all areas are
covered as most indie animation / capture artists will need to know this.
Context / Rationale
The idea is to research into various setups used within industry / education and what seems to be the more commonly used style of mocap and how effective the data collection is. Also with input from industry, learn the practice that is being taken and effectively mould it to enhance my capabilities to animate which will aid me in my development in games animation. The idea is to learn the process of the full animation process to ensure that the process is learnt properly to see if there is a way to effectively convert it to make it more accessible to other game devs who financially do not have a lot of money. |
